Hi all,
It has been a fairly quiet week on the character front, but I have some small pieces of info for you.
At the Walt Disney World Resort, Phineas and Ferb finally made their much anticipated debut at their new photolocation in Hollywood Studios. Jon found this video online, and you can see photos from Inside the Magic here. Don’t forget that Phineas and Ferb are due to start meeting very soon in California Adventure too – and Jon and I are going to be there in just two weeks, so we’ll have the latest up to date pictures right after they debut!
Disney Live also announced a brand new show titled Three Classic Fairy Tales. From what we know so far it will include the stories of Cinderella, Snow White and Beauty and the Beast. Check the Disney Live website for more information.
I saw on a friend's Facebook that in Paris, continuing with Inventions’ running idea of having a country-themed Sunday Brunch, this weekend saw the turn of Italy. Mickey, Minnie, Chip and Dale were there, as well as Geppetto and Pinocchio, and someone quite rare for Paris – Jiminy Cricket.
I can’t recall if I mentioned this already last week, so I’ll mention it again anyway! I heard that the Fairies might move to Hollywood Studios into a space in or around the Animation Building somewhere. I find this kind of strange given that they were supposed to be going into the shamefully underused Adventureland Veranda, and hope that they do go to there instead. The Animation Courtyard and Building area are way too cramped to have the enormously popular Fairies there, and they certainly do not belong in Future World where they are currently!
This Saturday I was up bright and early for the opening of the brand new Disney Store on Oxford Street in London. The old store had closed about 2 months ago, and has since moved up the street and expanded, doubling its size. The new store is really neat and one of the better ones of the new style that I have seen. Of course, this wouldn’t be a Character Central story without Characters, and indeed Mickey and Minnie were there to oversee the proceedings. Surprisingly, and much to my delight they had been sent dressed in their pirates outfits from Disneyland Paris, to commemorate the new Pirates of the Caribbean movie.
