John Smith is the British sailor and explorer who comes to the New World to found Jamestown, under the direction of Governor Ratcliffe. After encountering the Native American tribes, in particular a young girl names Pocahontas, John smith is angered by Ratcliffe's less-then-friendly view towards the people of this new land. A battle ensues, and John Smith is injured, but the Native American people are spared destruction. John Smith is sent back to England to recover, and Pocahontas remains behind, but she tells him, "No matter what happens, I'll always be with you, forever". Brave and fearless, John Smith is a true hero, standing up for the Native Americans, at the expense of his own happiness.
