Day 11: rest and some Magic

By now, even I was getting very tired, there's only so many crowds one can take!

The young ones had decided we'd do MK in the afternoon, do some attractions with FP, have dinner at Chef Mickey and then catch the fireworks.

Sounded great to me, but I couldn't resist a trip to DHS to see who was at Palooza, I still hadn't found the fox that robs from the rich to feed the poor!

The gates opened, there weren't many characters around....there was no orange fur :-(

But there was a real boy, and I hadn't met him in wdw, infact the Pinocchio characters are quite rare over in wdw compared to DLP where they appear everywhere!

He was very playful and cute

I'd met all the other characters before, but Genie, Jasmine and Aladdin were all together, and I've never had a picture of them together, so I decided "why not?!"

Genie is always fun to meet.

I decided to head to MK ahead of my family, and see who was out and about.

I went to Fantasyland, and the Fairy Godmother was out with the biggest line I'd seen in wdw for a character. I just couldn't face waiting in the sunshine...

I looked on the app, and it was a few minutes before Gaston's set, so I went to his tavern, and he already had half a dozen people lining up. Gaston was ten minutes late, but oh my word he was hilarious! I've never had a bad meet with Gaston, he's such a good character to meet!

I met up with my fam at Pete's Circus to meet the leading ladies Daisy and Minnie!

First up was Madame Daisy Fortuna

She read my fortune in her crystal ball, and told me I'm going to have a good life hehe, next up, the divalicious Magnificent Minnie!

We rode The Little Mermaid and met Ariel too

Here's a bit of feedback. There's an awesome gift shop of BATB themed items by Gaston's tavern. Sir. Mickeys is now a Frozen store. There are two Little Mermaid attractions, but no store? This is a missed opportunity IMO...

Also, the circus has a store, but there's hardly anything uniquely themed in there. Could you imagine how cute the plushes, pins, key rings and even vinyls could be that are unique to this theme? This store needs some work.

I would also like to see Pete in the parks, and this is the PERFECT opportunity. How can the longest serving Disney character not have a real presence?

We then headed towards SM for our FP, did I mention hoe much I love this attraction? Lol...

Next up was MEET MICKEY MOUSE. I had been looking forward to this for weeks, but first we decided to meet Tink, as it was a zero minute wait lol!

I have to say I'm not a fan of her movies, not her character in general. I didn't enjoy this meet, I found it pretty awkward tbh...

Anyways, onto the big cheese. His waiting area is cool...

Our group picture is neat. This was the single most amazing experience I had a WDW. It was amazing, and even my family said how jaw dropping it was. If this was rolled out with other characters it could be insane, and if it ever us expanded on, I will be very quick to return to WDW because it is just pure magic.

Anyway we decided to head to Chef Mickeys at the Comtemporary. We walked it and had a nice stroll. When we arrived and checked in, they warned us that as Mickey was very busy cooking the food tonight he would not be touring the restaurant, but we would get the opportunity for one group photo before we took our table. I was a bit annoyed, but at least we got to see him, and given the experience we'd just in MK with Mickey, we were on a real high.

We met Chef Mickey, and was then shown to our table. It was very loud, but the weren't as many kids running around as Crystal Palace. We could see Goofy on hone horizon so we rushed up for our starters!

First up, the Goofster!

Next up, my boy Donald Duck!

Minnie was a good few minutes away, time for a plate refil!

Then it was Pluto who was sooooo funny! He made us stroke his nose, and when we did he trembled his legs and clapped. It was brilliant haha! When it was my turn I added in a "good boy" and he fell to his knees haha!

The food just just average, the carpet smelled of wet dog but the characters were great. I wouldn't rush back, but I would recommend people do it if they've never been. I'd perhaps go for breakfast on a "pool day" or something?

We headed back to the park for fireworks and the special evening parade which we looooooooooooved! It was so cute!

Overall, a great day had by all!

Day 12: last day of Disney parks...

It was our last full day, and everyone wanted to do different things. Mine was obviously Disney! I was determined to meet Robin Hood, and I'd heard from CC user rodnyhansel that special characters meet by the exit of AK from 4pm that might include Brer Rabbit!

I did some wandering around DHS, checking out the stores I hadn't seen, and I went to see The Muppets show again as I'm a big fan.

It was time for soda and then Palooza.

The doors went back...

It was a regular set of characters....

OMG?! GREEN HAT ORANGE FURY TAIL...right at the end of he walk way and hidden around the corner was a RH

Next up was Stitch, believe it or not, I've never met him before! There is always other characters around, and the lines at MK are nuts.

I didn't want to line up for the others as I'd rather give other guests time with the characters when I've met them numerous times in recent days!

I decided to do take in my last few minutes at DHS, as I wouldn't be coming back. I love that park, it's everything I'd love WDS to be...
While wondering around, Jake The Pirate had no line, so I jumped in, weirdly, Sofia had a giant line and they're next to each other; so weird!

I took the WDW shuttle to AK, and met up with rody, we had a cool chat about characters and he's a really nice guy. All of a sudden, Governor Ratcliffe and a cheeky raccoon came out to greet guests right by the entrance exit area.
There was no one around and we got some real good quality time with them.

And a nice shot with just Ratty, Meeko got distracted by biscuits.

I decided to spend half an hour walking around my new favourite park AK, there were hardly any people around, and it is such a well themed and beautiful park. In my final minutes I wanted to say goodbye to one of my favourites...

And that was it.
The final day we spent packing and shopping at Downtown Disney before our evening flight back home.

On this trip I had so many magical memories and met characters I've never met before. I exceeded all my expectations by seeing dozens of ducks, and my two favourite foxes. Although Universal has more development points than enjoyment points, I would recommend people go, for Harry Potter, Marvel and The Simpsons - if nothing else. Disney is on another level, but it is not without it's faults; cranegate at AK being the worst. But characters and attractions were outstanding generally speaking.

Although I probably won't rush back, I can't wait to see how Downtown will transform into Springs next year, and Im curious to see how the works at AK develop. If there was a special event like LongLostFriends I may consider returning sooner, but I think it'll be a few years until I'm back.

In short, I made memories to last a lifetime. Good job WDW.

Thanks Martin, I love the pic too, it was my second favourite magical moment with Mickey, number one being sorcerer Mickey at DHS who was so cheeky!

My love for Mickey has really grown this year, he's so cute! Minnie too, she's just adorable!
