Jessie is the loud and lively cowgirl from the Woody's Roundup. Jessie was left by her owner at the side of the road, and since that day she was bitter and felt rejected. She was "rescued" and restored to pristine condition by a toy collector, where she was going to be sold along with Bullseye and the Prospector to a toy museum, where she believed she would be loved again. Woody rescued her form her prison, and she lived happily with Andy for many years. Sadly, children grow up, and Jessie once again found herself being left. But, at the last minute Andy decided to give his beloved toys to a new owner, who would love the toys as much as he had. This passing down of the toys from Andy was sad, but Jessie knew that it was, in the end, the right thing to do. At least this time she hadn't been left.
