A Socially Distanced Halloween at the Magic Kingdom, Part One - Mickey and Friends
DisneyDan  Thursday, September 24, 2020 11:57:46 AM
Hello everyone,

Things look a little different this year for Halloween season at Walt Disney World. We have seen the cancellation of Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party, along with drastically reduced operations across Walt Disney World. Gone are the days of visiting the hotel resorts to see the pumpkins and decor, and meeting characters on Halloween night at all the hotels; shelved is the Headless Horseman 5K at Fort Wilderness, and the Headless Horseman movie night event (also at Fort Wilderness); we've even lost those awful pumpkin-scarecrows that used to haunt us every year on Main Street! We've lost a lot of really cool things due to this ongoing pandemic, but there was one small bright spark of light to come out of it all. Now, during regular daily operations at the Magic Kingdom, we can see some of our favourite Disney characters in various spooky Halloween offerings. These offerings include a Mickey and friends cavalcade, a Pooh and friends trolley, a Nightmare Before Christmas cavalcade, a Villains cavalcade, the Cadaver Dans, and various greetings (Main Street Station, Rivers of America, and the Crystal Palace).

I thought I would make a few blog posts to share with you the Halloween spirit that has overtaken the Magic Kingdom, starting here with Mickey and friends. You can see Mickey and his pals intermittently throughout the day either up on Main Street Station, waving to guests below and posing for selfies, or riding through the park in a festive cavalcade. Mickey and his pals are joined by the Sugar Rush Racers from Wreck-It-Ralph, some pirates, Haunted Mansion ballroom dancers, and some Haunted Mansion gravediggers.

So, without any further commentary, here's a selection of   [ Read More... ]
DVC Moonlight Magic, January 2018 - A Photo Report
DisneyDan  Friday, March 9, 2018 11:12:02 AM
Hello everyone,

Over three weekends in January and February DVC held another special Moonlight Magic event at the Magic Kingdom. I thought you would all like to see some photos from the characters we met at the event. The three hour event included some awesome long lost pals such as Little John, Koda and Kenai, the hyenas, and Herbie, plus more regular characters in special costumes, such as Chip 'n' Dale in their Rescue Ranger gear, Tiana and Naveen in their Royal Friendship Faire outfits, Donald and Daisy dressed for the Wild West, and Goofy and Pluto in their Mission Space suits.

Let's take a look!

DVC Moonlight Magic, December 2017 - A Photo Report
DisneyDan  Tuesday, March 6, 2018 12:43:00 PM
Hello everyone,

I realise this is about 11 weeks late, but better late than never, right?

Back in December we attended the DVC Moonlight Magic event at Epcot. It was a fun evening with some great characters, but other than that, I don't have a lot to say about it at this point, since it was over two months ago, but I thought it would be fun to share some photos from the evening anyway.

Enjoy!

Hello everyone,

In this new blog series I am going to take a look at some of the meet 'n' greets that you can experience at the Walt Disney World Resort in Florida.

Today I thought it would be fun to start with Mickey and Minnie Mouse at Disney's Hollywood Studios.

Their current location is called "Mickey and Minnie Starring in Red Carpet Dreams", which is located on Commissary Lane.

Chip 'n' Dale's Harvest Feast, A Review - March 2017
DisneyDan  Thursday, April 6, 2017 10:33:59 AM
Hello everyone,

A couple of weeks ago we had lunch at The Garden Grill, inside The Land pavilion at Epcot. We had eaten there several times in the past, but it had been several years, so we thought it was time that we went back to get an updated view.

The Garden Grill is a character dining experience, which has its own title of Chip 'n' Dale's Harvest Feast. Throughout your dining experience, Chip and Dale, as well as Mickey Mouse and Pluto, make their way around the restaurant for hugs, photos and autographs. Prices can be up to $60 per adult, depending on the time of day, plus tax and tip. You should plan to be in the restaurant for at least an hour. Reservations are accepted, and can be made on the My Disney Experience app.
