Sorry for the delay in posting part 2 of my Disneyland Photo Trip Report; however, I have been busy working on enhancements for the next version of the website as well as some other things... but without further ado here is part 2 :)
We started the day once again in California Adventure and spent some time wandering around Buena Vista Street
Then we had a very healthy cupcake for breakfast
Then Buena Vista Street Chip and Dale arrived
Then Mickey Arrived on the Red Car Trolley to meet his fans
Then we wandered around the rest of California Adventure
Then we decided to head to Disneyland but managed to meet two of the citizens of Buena Vista Street on the way out
After wandering up Main Street USA we went into Fantasyland where we found Peter Pan AND Wendy who is much harder to find
Then we headed to Frontierland to go to the Big Thunder Ranch Jamboree; however, it wasn't open yet so we wandered around a bit
Then it was time for the Jamboree to open so we headed there... I really enjoyed the Jamboree with its combination of characters that were either rare (Country Bears, Clara Cluck, etc) or in great Frontierland outfits, Pin Trading, and other entertainment. I think it really added something nice to the park and was a great way to relax but also meet some great characters at the same time. I really hope they continue to have things like this; however, is it is in an out of the way corner and I'm not sure how many people really knew about it (despite lots of signs) so it wasn't ever very crowded... hopefully it is popular enough that it was deemed a success.
After that we headed back to DCA to check out Dancin' With Disney... overall I think it is great that they added something like this with so many rare to Disneyland characters (as well as some just plain rare characters); however, I am not a fan of the whole dance party thing. They have characters out that you can't find anywhere else and you can't meet them really... the only way to get a picture is to hope they will stop for a moment for the picture... I wish it was more of a combination at least where some of the characters were out on the dance floor and others were "mingling" so you could get pictures with them and truly meet them... then they could switch back and forth between dancing and mingling so if you were there long enough you could actually meet any of the characters that were there. That being said I am very glad they had these characters out somewhere :)
After we left there Jake was out in Hollywood Land so we stopped to say hi before heading back to Buena Vista Street
We stopped to get some ice cream before heading back to Disneyland... they have cute little red car trolley dishes you can get your ice cream in.
Once back in Disneyland we headed towards Adventureland and stopped to check out Aladdin's Oasis which has been open recently due to the construction work on the Carnation Plaza Gardens. This is a great area I had never been in before and I hope they keep it open and make more use of it... is a prefect place to relax for a bit and sit down in the shade. To make it even better Aladdin, Jasmine, and Genie meet their fans back there during the day.
After that we just wandered around Disneyland for awhile before heading back to DCA
Once back in DCA we headed to check out the Mad Tea Party since we hadn't gotten over there the night before. I have to say I like this version of the party better than the previous incarnations (although ElecTRONica was pretty cool too). The band was good and their outfits were awesome. The other entertainment was appropriately weird. As someone visiting from out of town and only there a limited time (and therefore exhausting ourselves running around all day) it wasn't something I really wanted to spend a great deal of time at; however, for locals I am sure it is a great way to spend an evening... much better than any club or bar (at least IMHO). I am also glad they moved the party stuff back off of the main street of Hollywood Land so that it doesn't intrude on and destroy the theming of the whole land like the previous parties did. Since there isn't a lot back in that area (other than Monsters Inc and the Muppet's Movie) you can mostly ignore all of the decorations and the stages during the day.
After that we wandered through the stores on Buena Vista Street before heading back to Disneyland
When we got back to Disneyland we decided to just wander around Main Street for awhile and then head back to the hotel... we were still recovering from our super long day the first day and we had Disneyland EMH the next day so we had to get up super early so figured it would be best to call it an early night
So that brings us to the end of day 2 and the second part of my photo trip report. I'm not sure if I will be able to get part 3 done before we leave for WDW on Wednesday but I will try :) |
