Hello everyone,
I know it's been a while again since I posted here, but as anyone who follows us on various social media platforms knows, we are still very much active and always having adventures at the parks. I do update the website with new locations and characters when I get chance, but I find social media an easier, more immediate to access platform these days than constantly blogging. The "stories" feature of Instagram and Facebook I use particularly heavily; almost daily in a lot of instances, in fact.
However, I thought I would give a more thoughtful update on life here in Central Florida, some of our more recent trips, and upcoming plans - and also what it has been like to enter into a third year of a global pandemic living close to the magic. I've included a lot of photos in between sections, which I hope you enjoy.
We were reluctant to travel for quite a while, even when things got more back to "normal" (I use that word very lightly - there is nothing "normal" about the ongoing situation in the world. I more refer to how businesses and countries continue to adapt and reopen in the face of either "getting on with it", or closing permanently). So,   [ Read More... ] |

Hello everyone,
Today is a special day as we are at exactly 100 days until Walt Disney World Resort in Florida turns 50!
To kick off the 100 day countdown, I wanted to share with you a small selection of our photos from probably one of the most beloved - and most missed entertainment offerings - from not just Magic Kingdom, but all of WDW over the years, SpectroMagic.

Hello everyone,
Previously here on the blog I shared with you all some of the Halloween offerings currently at Magic Kingdom (Mickey and Friends here, and the Disney Villains here).
Today I am sharing some photos of Winnie the Pooh and his 100 Acre Wood friends who are appearing dressed in their Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party costumes.
You can catch Pooh, Eeyore, Piglet and Tigger throughout the day travelling up and down Main Street USA on the horse-drawn trolley. Occasionally, you may also find them   [ Read More... ] |

Hello everyone,
Things look a little different this year for Halloween season at Walt Disney World. We have seen the cancellation of Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party, along with drastically reduced operations across Walt Disney World. Gone are the days of visiting the hotel resorts to see the pumpkins and decor, and meeting characters on Halloween night at all the hotels; shelved is the Headless Horseman 5K at Fort Wilderness, and the Headless Horseman movie night event (also at Fort Wilderness); we've even lost those awful pumpkin-scarecrows that used to haunt us every year on Main Street! We've lost a lot of really cool things due to this ongoing pandemic, but there was one small bright spark of light to come out of it all. Now, during regular daily operations at the Magic Kingdom, we can see some of our favourite Disney characters in various spooky Halloween offerings. These offerings include a Mickey and friends cavalcade, a Pooh and friends trolley, a Nightmare Before Christmas cavalcade, a Villains cavalcade, the Cadaver Dans, and various greetings (Main Street Station, Rivers of America, and the Crystal Palace).
I thought I would make a few blog posts to share with you the Halloween spirit that has overtaken the Magic Kingdom, starting here with Mickey and friends. You can see Mickey and his pals intermittently throughout the day either up on Main Street Station, waving to guests below and posing for selfies, or riding through the park in a festive cavalcade.
Mickey and his pals are joined by the Sugar Rush Racers from Wreck-It-Ralph, some pirates, Haunted Mansion ballroom dancers, and some Haunted Mansion gravediggers.
So, without any further commentary, here's a selection of   [ Read More... ] |

Hello everyone,
We recently dined at Artist Point for the first time to try the (relatively) new Storybook Dining with Snow White at Wilderness Lodge.
Wilderness Lodge is located on the southern shore of Bay Lake, southeast of the Magic Kingdom. You can get to Wilderness Lodge by bus from Epcot, Hollywood Studios and Animal Kingdom, or boat from the Magic Kingdom.
The restaurant is just off of the main lobby, to the northwest side of the building. Because of the way that Wilderness Lodge is built, although the restaurant is on the main/"ground" level, there are some pretty good views out towards Bay Lake.
The menu is a set price format, and you choose from a selection of set items. The cost is $55 per adult, plus tax and tip. Annual Passholders can get 10% off, making the the price $49.50, plus tax and tip. No drinks are included, and are at an additional cost.

Hello everyone,
Last week I talked about the (then) upcoming surprise character appearances at the Magic Kingdom as part of Mickey and Minnie's Surprise Celebration (for their 90th birthdays).
Well, last Friday saw the first day of the daily fun at the Flagpole in Town Square, and I was there everyday to see who came out! From what I understand from talking to cast members who were there everyday, these characters will remain the same for the foreseeable future, and even possibly until the end of the celebration in September. The days may change later on, just to make it fair to people who can't come on specific days of the week (because of work or school, etc), but the characters are likely to remain the same. Indeed, today, Nick and Judy are back in Town Square, as they were last Friday. Of course, as always with Disney, anything is subject to change at any moment, so we shall see what happens in a couple of weeks from now.
The characters that are a part of this new offering, so far at least, are: Nick Wilde and Judy Hopps (Zootopia), Phineas and Ferb (from their namesake TV show), Robin Hood, Little John, Friar Tuck and Prince John (Robin Hood), Chicken Little and Abby Mallard (Chicken Little), Remy and Emile (Ratatouille), and Gideon and J. Worthington Foulfellow (Pinocchio).
Important! - At time of writing, the characters begin at around 11.30am (usually with a slight delay), and end around 2.30pm, daily. It should be noted that the park schedule and/or the WDW app has been listing characters off and on as being in Town Sq until around 4.45pm. We found this to not be entirely true, and when they did appear after 3pm, they would just walk around and NOT stop for photos.
Let's take a look at some of the   [ Read More... ] |
