Hi all,
So as you know I don't tend to write trip reports anymore, simply because we visit the US and Paris parks so often it just seems silly. I also report all the time about them on the blog, and the site has such extensive information and photos from our trips to those places, I just don't bother now. But, time to time something exceptional happens, such as Tokyo last year, and I feel that I have to write about it in more depth.
This year it is the turn of Hong Kong Disneyland, which we visited for the very first time this week.
Last Saturday Jon, Loren and I all made our ways to our respective home city airports to begin an amazing four day adventure in Hong Kong, which initially included two days in Hong Kong Disneyland (ended up being one whole day and two half days, but I'll explain later). [ Read More... ] |

Hi all! We are now back from our AMAZING trip to Hong Kong and Hong Kong Disneyland. We have thousands of pictures to go through as ever! I have started to put together a trip report and hopefully the first part will be up tomorrow evening! So stay tuned for that one. We had a totally wonderful time, and had some amazing experiences. Some of the cool things we did included meeting the casts of the Festival of the Lion King and the Golden Mickeys shows, plus we had a special finale dinner with some great characters. Lots more to come over the coming days including all the pictures, but thought I would share at least those small pieces of information with you. Hi all,
I have some more photo updates for you now from our current trip to Hong Kong Disneyland!
Here is a special meet 'n' greet we had with Timon and the cast of the Festival of the Lion King, on Monday.
We got to meet my favourite character, Stitch, at the Stitch Encounter attraction.
We met Buzz Lightyear in Tomorrowland also.
We saw Lightning McQueen roll by for his new show here in HKDL, Lightning McQueen "Live"!
Tinker Bell was at her new Pixie Hollow location in Fantasyland ready to fly with us to Neverland.
Over at City Hall Donald and Daisy were in their 5th anniversary outfits.
Goofy and his son Max were at a special meet 'n' greet at Main Street Station one evening.
We met Duffy the Disney Bear over at the Fantasy Gardens area, and became the first people in the world to meet Duffy at every Disney Resort! (He isn't out in Paris at all, but we had a very special meet last month on our Magical Moments Events Tour)
Mickey and Minnie were in their beach gear ready to greet us at the same event as Goofy and Max.
And finally Pluto was also at the Fantasy Gardens in his cute little Chinese hat and collar.
Ok, more later tonight after our third and final day in the park!

Hi all, The Character Central Team have arrived safely in Hong Kong, and have free WiFi at the hotel! So expect updates over the next few days while we are here! We are not staying at Disneyland itself, but on Hong Kong Island. We will be in the park from tomorrow, but for now here is a quick pic I snapped as we whizzed by the Disneyland Resort exit on the highway on the way to the hotel!

Hi all, Just to let you know that we will be away from our desks until next weekend as we will be in Hong Kong! We will be leaving for Hong Kong tomorrow, arriving Sunday. We will be spending next Monday and Wednesday in Hong Kong Disneyland! Tuesday we do know our plans yet, but will be in HK, of course. We arrive home again Thursday, but it will take us a day or two to get sorted out. Hi all, As you know, yesterday was Disneyland's 56th Birthday. To celebrate the occasion at 2.30pm in Town Square they played Walt Disney's opening day speech, and a whole host of characters sprang from the backstage exits to fill the street with no less than 69 characters (that I could count!). Our friend Mr Daps was there, and has all the pictures and video from the special moment here. Hopefully some year we will go on the Birthday day itself and see a similar fantastical array of characters! I did hear that also a short while later throughout the park, some of the characters came out to greet their fans. I saw pictures of the Princesses and Princes who were out near the Castle. Hi all, I discovered that this week for some reason the stars of Buffalo Bill's Wild West Show at Disneyland Paris have been doing a parade through Disney Village at about 6pm every day. Buffalo Bill, Annie Oakley and their friends have all been there daily, riding real horses through the streets of the Village. I found this picture, but I did see more from a contact that I cannot post here. I can only assume this is a marketing thing - one of several attempts recently to try to boost numbers at the ailing show. Jon and I both personally like the show, having seen it twice now, but it has been there for many years, and I am sure most people would love to see a new show. But of course as always, it comes down to money. And with the 20th fast approaching, I'm sure DLP have more important things to worry about than Buffalo Bill. [ Read More... ] |
