Hello everyone,
Today I want to share with you a (rather large) selection of my photos from our recent adventures through Pandora - The World of Avatar, at Disney's Animal Kingdom at Walt Disney World.
I'll give a few thoughts along the way, but I thought that on this occasion I would let my photos do most of the talking, and let you form your own opinions about the new land.
Let's start with some of the initial sights you'll see when entering Pandora from its main entry point, over the bridge from Discovery Island.
Once you have entered the land proper, one of the first things you'll come to is the Colors of Mo'ara retail cart, and the ACE Mobile Treats cart.
Near the two carts is a stage where you can witness the Swotu Waya Na'vi Drum Ceremony.
Before moving on to the two main attractions, the main store and main restaurant, let's take a look at some more of the stunning scenery around Pandora.
Despite the (apparent) claims that no part of the "regular" Disney Parks will find its way into Pandora, there are Wilderness Explorer signs and activity stations in the land.
Pongu Pongu is a small kiosk that serves really pretty and quite tasty drinks inspired by the world of Avatar. The Night Blossom is the most popular drink here, and is the one we tried. I quite enjoyed it.
Let's take a further stroll through the land and discover more of the amazing scenery and vegetation before stepping inside the attractions and other locations.
The main dining location in Pandora is the Satu'li Canteen. This is a large counter service restaurant that serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. We tried several meals here, and we were extremely impressed. The best part about the restaurant is that they have a really good selection for vegetarians - and you can mix and match your own meal. It's refreshing to have such a decent, well thought out, varied selection when coming to the parks, and it would definitely be a draw for us when deciding to eat on any given park day. We find that these days there isn't a lot to keep us (personally) at Animal Kingdom, but the food at the Satu'li Canteen would definitely get us over there.
Let's continue our walk around the land before we head inside the attractions.
The Na'vi River Journey is a peaceful boat ride through the nighttime world of Pandora, where you will encounter some very interesting inhabitants.
At Windtraders, the main store in Pandora, you can create your own Avatar and adopt a shoulder banshee, as well as shop for lots of unique Pandora themed items.
Before taking a look at Avatar Flight of Passage, let's take another stroll around some of the remaining areas of the land.
Avatar Flight of Passage is the main attraction in Pandora, and certainly the best attraction in the park. It continues to command lines over several hours, and it is not hard to see why. The attraction is absolutely breathtaking from start to end, and whether you like Avatar or not, it is undeniably one of the best attractions Disney has ever created.
Let's work our way through the queue, including a close up look at the Avatar in the laboratory. There are no photos on the attraction because, one, it isn't possible, and two, well that would really be spoiling it!
And finally the exit line and 3D glasses return!...
Before we end our tour of the World of Avatar, I want to share some photos from around Pandora at night. It really is a different world!
Have a great day everyone,
Dan. |
