Hi all,
As you are all no doubt aware, this week’s news has been
dominated by the awful disaster that has unfolded across Japan.
Being a Disney Blog, I thought that I would update what I have
heard so far. The parks sustained some surface damage – cracked floors,
uprooted lamps etc., but nothing more serious. Nobody was reported to have any injuries
either.
Due to the immensely powerful nature of the quake, Oriental
Land Company has seen it necessary to close the parks until the 21st
March to continue their safety checks, and repair any significant damage.
Our thoughts and prayers are with all the people of Japan,
and all those visiting the country at the time.
Moving on to one other piece of news, and Disneyland Paris’s
New Generation Festival ended this evening after a year of Disney fun at the
Resort.
For the next three weeks there is expected to be no
scheduled main hub show or no Character Express, which were the main
contributing features of the celebration. The new Magical Moments Festival
begins on April 6th, and brings with it a fantastic new series of
events and happenings, which I have discussed over the last few weeks here on
the blog. Just to remind you, some major things include the brand new hub show
featuring Merlin, the Fairy Godmother and the Genie; the newly revised parade
with new show stops; the Disney Dance Express; and in Adventureland, a Peter
Pan Happening and the Rhythms of the Jungle! We look forward to experiencing
this all soon!
Ok, that’s all for now,
Dan.
