Hi all,
Yesterday I reported on the random happenings in Tokyo Disneyland, including Donald’s Funny Harmony. Since then a cavalcade of videos have made it onto YouTube, and so I have chosen this one to show you. It looks a really cute little show, and I love Sorcerer Donald!
As we know, and I also reported on last week, the new cruise ship, Disney Dream, launched. Since then more and more pictures have been appearing online, including two very interesting images from Stitch Kingdom. This picture and this one when compared side to side show something that is a first for a character outside of the Fab 5, and a first for outside of the US parks – a talking head character in the form of Baloo!
My good friends Chrissy and Joseph sent me this article that they found on MousePlanet that talks about the apparent imminent decision by Disneyland Resort management to remove all random character happenings and meet ‘n’ greets and replace them with static character queue lines with PhotoPass photographers! This would be a serious blow to the already character deficient Resort, and would make a serious impact on the Guest experiences in the Parks. We can only hope that when the author says it has so far been denied by the executives, that he is right, because I can see the fans protesting en masse if this happened.
Our good friend Loren was at the Kickin’ Country Weekend this weekend for the Family Fun Days at Disneyland, and he has written us a small report on his experiences there, which I hope to get up here on the blog tomorrow. For now, all his pictures from his day in the park can be found here.
Finally, some more cool site updates for you. Now if you go to any page you can sort the popular images by two options – Popular and Recent. Previously all images were displayed automatically as most popular, and there was no option to change them, but now you can sort by the most recently added, too. We hope to expand on this feature in the future and be able to add more tabs for things like seasonal variations and special event overlays on the locations pages. We have also made it so that given all the Flickr issues as late, our images are now cached on the site’s server so that if Flickr fails (which it has been a lot), then the site will not be affected, and you can continue to view images as normal – rather than have blank pages, as has been the case recently!
Ok, that’s all for now,
Dan :)
