Hi all,

Yesterday was of course Valentine’s Day, which in the past at Disneyland Paris has meant some great random and rare character appearances, but sadly, not this year.

Our friends from Characters Photos Blog were there all day, and alas had no luck, except right at the end of the day when they went to the Santa Fe and there was some mini-show happening. Mickey and Minnie were there in their Valentine’s outfits from last year to provide the entertainment.

My best guess is that because Valentine’s fell on a week day, there simply was not enough demand for having extra performers out, or maybe they simply didn’t have the resources this year. Whatever the reason, it was sad to know that it had been scaled back, and hope that next year sees a return to more normal offerings at the Resort.

Characters Photos Blog was also at DLP on Sunday, and there was apparently a special meal at Inventions at the Disneyland Hotel, “All Around the World”. Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Goofy, Pluto, Chip and Dale were all there in their finest African, Safari and Middle Eastern clothing.

Lastly for Disneyland Paris, it has come to our attention that the Lucky Nugget Saloon in Frontierland has stopped offering character meals, but continues to be a restaurant. Previously the Parc had launched a new character experience just down the walkway at Cowboy Cookout BBQ. Normally a counter service restaurant, in the early evening Cowboy Cookout transforms into a dessert buffet with Disney characters. For a while these two experiences ran simultaneously, but as of this week it would appear that management has decided to move the Frontierland character offering to the CC BBQ permanently. We shall be in DLP next week, and will be checking this out for ourselves, so stay tuned for our report on that one!

Finally, jumping across the pond to EPCOT, and back to Valentine’s Day, we hear from contacts that in a rare move for WDW, they actually put out two of the princes yesterday! Prince Phillip joined Princess Aurora over at France, and in Germany the Snow Prince joined Snow White for a very rare appearance.
