Hi all,
Yesterday insidethemagic posted some new pictures form the
new Mickey and Princess meet and greet rooms at the new Town Square Theater in
the Magic Kingdom. The brand new locations have been open on “soft opening”
test runs.
I have to say that the princess room is a vast improvement
on the former location in Toon Town, though they could have decorated it a bit
more. We have to bear in mind though that this is not their permanent home –
that will be where the Snow White attraction is currently. As for Mickey’s
area, well overall the room looks really cool, but he does not actually pose
with any of the cool things in the room, but instead against a rather garish
red curtain. Minnie was there with him yesterday, but we do not currently know
whether she will make regular appearances with Mickey, or if it is more random.
Over at Disneyland Paris, preparations are in full swing for
the Magical Moments Festival, including some soft-opening previews for the new
entertainment offerings! Our Facebook friends Character Photos Blog uploaded
some images from the exciting previews yesterday, and I saw posted somewhere
else that the previews will continue all weekend, but of course this is subject
to change.
It is really great to see John Darling having a starring
role in the Peter Pan show, which also feature a face Captain Hook and Mr Smee.
Both of them are an improvement on the Magic Kingdom’s Dream Along face
version, but still need some work, I think!
Sadly due to our really busy schedules, we will not be in
Paris now until June (which seeing as it is April in 4 and a half hours, means
it is only the month after next!), but that means we have to wait another two
months until we can see the new hub show, Dance Express and Peter Pan happening
ourselves (amongst other cool things scheduled for the new festival).
We will of course be in WDW in just two weeks from now though,
and will be meeting Mickey and the princesses in their new homes, as well as
catching up on any other changes around the Resort.
Finally for Florida, I saw from a friend who works at Hollywood
Studios that Darth Vader makes his last appearances outside Star Tours today.
He had been meeting Guests for the last few months, but will be flying back to
the Empire again after today.
Ok, that’s all for now,
Dan.
