Hi all,
I have some exclusive news for you all! I have been told by a friend and good inside source of mine that rumours within Disney suggest that a brand new villain will replace Frollo at Disneyland Paris this year for their Halloween season. Yzma from The Emperor's New Groove is set to make her Parisienne debut in October! Yzma did make appearances in the US when the film was released more than ten years ago. She was a masked character back then, but she had rarely been seen since, until last year when Disney Cruise Line launched their brand new show, Villains Tonight, where she now appears as a face character. I have been told that she is likely to be masked, but knowing DLP and what they did with the Snow Witch and more recently the Genie, it would not surprise me if she underwent a makeover and returned from her Parks exile as a face character. Of course, that is just me speculating. Watch this space later this year for more information, and remember you read it here first!
Please remember that all information is subject to change and alteration by Disney at any time.
Jon and I will actually be doing a Disney Cruise next year - 7 nights aboard the Magic in February, and we expect to see Villains Tonight. So even if Yzma fails to appear at DLP this year, we shall have her on the site eventually!
Other cool characters in the show include face versions of Pain, Panic and Hades, and Kronk - Yzma's sidekick (who would also be new to the site!). In other news, PIXAR have a website up about the 25th happenings at EPCOT in late next week. The characters listed are a little less exciting than originally thought, but there are some cool ones nonetheless. Although George Sanderson and Needleman are not listed, Drew on WDWMagic (usually a very reliable source) posted that he has heard they will be appearing. Finally, also on WDWMagic, Drew has reported that Phineas and Ferb have now been pushed back and will not start meeting Guests until the 20th of May, as opposed to the 16th. As you may remember, Jon and I were lucky enough to get an exclusive sneak peak of Phineas and Ferb two weeks ago while at Walt Disney World. Click their names to see their pages, complete with videos! Ok, that's all for now, Dan. |
