Hello everyone,
Mickey Mouse has a vast collection of costumes from many years' worth of parades, shows and greetings at all the Disney Parks and Resorts around the world. I was thinking recently about how many different outfits you can meet him in at Walt Disney World during any given year (Christmas, Halloween, etc), and I thought it would be interesting to share with you all my thoughts and experiences on this.
The costumes below are based on our most recent experiences at Walt Disney World, however, as always, schedules, events and greetings are subject to change and cancellation by Walt Disney World, without prior notice.
Let's start with Mickey's regular locations around the four Walt Disney World theme parks.
At the Magic Kingdom, you can find Mickey at Town Square Theatre, where he is dressed in his magician outfit.
At EPCOT, Mickey can be found in his classic outfit inside the EPCOT Character Spot.
At Disney's Hollywood Studios, you can find Mickey dressed in his Sorcerer's Apprentice robes. We met him most recently, right before he moved locations, so until we go back later this year, we don't have an up-to-date location photo, but his outfit is the same, and he's still at the Studios.
At Disney's Animal Kingdom, you can meet Mickey together with his sweetheart, Minnie Mouse, dressed in their cute explorer gear, on Discovery Island.
When he's not at the theme parks, Mickey also makes appearances at various character dining locations.
At Mickey's Backyard BBQ, at Disney's Fort Wilderness Campground, you can meet Mickey in his awesome rodeo-style costume.
At the Four Seasons Resort inside the Golden Oak community, Mickey appears in his very dapper golfing clothes, ready for an easy day on the fairway!
Continuing with his relaxed approach, you can also dine with Mickey at Ohana, at Disney's Polynesian Resort.
At Disney's Contemporary Resort's Chef Mickey's restaurant, Mickey likes to take on the role of chef. You can meet Mickey when he's not in the kitchen, wearing his chef uniform.
At the Garden Grill, in EPCOT's The land pavilion, Farmer Mickey cooks up some homegrown dishes.
At Disney's Animal Kingdom, Mickey greets diners in Harambe's Tusker House Restaurant, where he is on safari.
Throughout the year you can also see Mickey in various seasonal outfits. Mickey likes to get with the occasion, and has a huge collection of clothes for the different seasons and events. It should be noted that these costumes are the ones likely to change the most, and not guaranteed to be used from year-to-year.
During Easter weekend, Mickey and his friends, for the past several years, have appeared at the Walt Disney World Resort Hotels in some of their finest clothes. It's hard to get around to every resort in such a small amount of time on one morning, so we've only seen Mickey in this very spiffy top hat and tails at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort.
May and June every year sees Disney's Hollywood Studios transformed into a galactic outpost, as Star Wars Weekends descends upon the park. For around seven years now, Mickey has gotten into the spirit of things and appeared as Jedi Mickey for greetings, and more recently, character dining during the event.
For the past two summers, after Star Wars Weekends ends, the Studios has celebrated Frozen Summer Fun, complete with a dance party. This year Mickey appeared at the dance party in a cool beach outfit. Although you can't really meet him properly, it's not quite the same situation as a show or parade - you can get up close to him, but he probably just won't stop for a personal photo.
The 4th of July is obviously a huge American holiday, and Mickey and his friends like to celebrate the day in style by donning their colonial outfits, at EPCOT.
As summer ends and autumn arrives, so does Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party. During these ticket events, you can meet Mickey in Town Square Theatre, dressed in his Halloween costume. When we met Mickey, Minnie was appearing with him, but I believe this isn't the case any more, or at least isn't guaranteed. Mickey has worn this outfit for a long time now, and we hope that sometime soon he decides to get a new one! This year, perhaps? We can hope!
After Halloween, Christmas season arrives, and Mickey once again has to rummage around his wardrobe to see what he can come up with!
When he's visiting Animal Kingdom, he and Minnie wear their cute Christmas sweaters and hats.
And finally, at the Magic Kingdom during Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party, he has colourful tartans and a scarf. This outfit was actually new this past Christmas (2014), so I anticipate he'll want to wear the same one again this year!
So, as you can see, Mickey is a mouse with some great clothes for all occasions. Finding Mickey in different costumes is always fun, and it's clear that throughout the year you can find him across Walt Disney World showing off different styles to match the season or event.
