Hi all,
Sorry it has taken a while to get back into things this week from our trip to NYC and WDW, hence why I haven't posted anything new until now.
There isn't really any big news this week, just a few smaller items.  [ Read More... ] |

Hi all,
Today Disneyland Paris released a statement as to why they cancelled the parties. Basically it was because they felt that there was too much refurbishment work going on in the park at this time.
What is interesting about it, is that although the parties have been cancelled and people can have their money back, there is a small meet and greet opportunity with some princesses and pirates on the evenings that the parties were due to take place, in Disney Village in the old Hurricanes club. Apparently this is just for the ticket holders of the cancelled party nights. Although I am sure that there will not really be anyone very special there (just the princesses and maybe Jack Sparrow and some others), what is interesting is that it is in the old Hurricanes club. This closed over a year ago, and was a nightclub venue. It has never had characters before, and is now sitting empty with nothing really in it. I assume the bar and dance floor are still there... which would make this a very interesting place to meet the characters! In an old Disney nightclub!
When I find out more I'll let you all know as always.
Be sure to check out the latest Character of the Week, posted today.
Check out my tribute post to Disney's Animal Kingdom that turned 13 today.
Ok, that's all for now,
Dan

Hi all, So today I learned that Disneyland Paris have cancelled the Princesses and Pirates Parties that were due to take place over four dates in June. Jon and I were due to attend two of them - one with a group of friends on the 10th, and one alone on the 17th. I have spent 15 minutes on the telephone with DLP this morning and they gave no reason as yet, but said I would receive an automated call in the next few days to explain why. A full refund was offered for the tickets purchased, so I suggest if anyone has bought tickets, to get on the telephone to them soon. Dan. |

Hi all,
Today sees the official launch of the Magic Moments Festival
in Disneyland Paris. Of course over the last week or so we have already seen
previews and soft openings of the shows, parade and new character locations,
but I thought it was worth mentioning anyway. I did tell you that f I came up
with a picture of the pink princess tent that has appeared in Fantasyland, I would
post it. And I have! The Disney and More Blog posted an article about the press
weekend, and although most of the information is not new (I have talked about
all of it over the last week), if you scroll down you will see two pictures of
the temporary location (just there while they complete the new location at the
old Small World exit area).  [ Read More... ] |

Hi all,
The last few days have been quite eventful in the Character
world!
Let me begin by going back the start of the weekend at Disneyland
Paris, which saw the press launch of the new Magical Moments Festival. All the
main features of the new celebration were previewed during the day, treating
regular park Guests to a snippet of what is to come. Later in the evening, they
had the main press event, and that consisted of a spectacular show on the hub –
though sadly not one we’ll see during the main celebration. Photos and one
video of the press event and show can be found on DLRP Express’s website
here.  [ Read More... ] |

Hi all,
I have some news form Disneyland Paris today regarding the
new Magical Moments Festival.
They have been out in full force installing the new
photolocations, and so far include Aladdin, Lion King/Jungle Book, Rapunzel and
Alice in Wonderland. I found these pictures posted to a blog, and I have to say
that the Aladdin one looks neat, the Alice one is ok, but the Rapunzel one
looks simply awful (you can click the images to see them larger). The Rapunzel
one is just stuck right in the middle of the walkway and is completely out of
touch with its surroundings. I really think it is a bad set up.  [ Read More... ] |

Hi all,
Friday night saw a special preview event at Disneyland Paris
for the new Magical Moments Festival, due to start in less than weeks at the
Resort. The event consisted of special previews of the brand new hub show, and
the Disney Dance Express (the latest incarnation of the Character Express/Casey
Jr).  [ Read More... ] |

Hi all,
Today has seen a few more things come up on the character
news front, after a somewhat quiet week.
The Disney Parks Blog posted that from this weekend there is
a special Pirates of the Caribbean – On Stranger Tides area set up in the
Festival Arena area at the back of Frontierland in California. As well as
merchandise, special drinks and exclusive 3D previews of the movie, Jack
Sparrow himself is said to be making appearances from time to time too. Jack
Sparrow does not get out much these days in the US parks, preferring to spend
most of his time in Tokyo and Paris!  [ Read More... ] |
